Systematik

Drei Untergattungen sind beschrieben und benutzt: Labidostomma (Cornutella), Labidostomma (Labidostomma) und Labidostomma (Nicoletiella). Diese waren früher auch als verschiedene Gattungsnamen benutzt.

Das Status der Arten Labidostomma (Labidostomma) zangherii Lombardini, 1943 und Labidostomma (Nicoletiella) virescens (Targioni Tozzetti, 1886) ist unsicher.

Beschreibung

Mittelgrosse und grosse, meist gelbe oder orange Milben. Körper ist stark sklerotisiert, Netzstruktur des Kutikula jedoch ohne dicke Wände. Augen sind meistens vorhanden. Erste Beine sind taktil. Körper trägt meist wenige drüsenähnliche Organe. (Krantz & Walter 2009)

Arten und Verbreitung

Die Gattug ist weltweit verbreitet. Es wurde 12 Arten der Gattung in Europa nachgewiesen. (Stoch 2003)
