Merkmale
Sehr große, massige Art mit kurzen Beinen. Körperlänge der Weibchen 7,7 bis 10,5 mm, die der Männchen 7,4 bis 9,5 mm (Martens 1978)
Lebensraum
Laubmischwälder am Fuße von Berghängen bis in Höhen von ca. 800 m. (Komposch 1997)
Phälologie
Reife Tiere findet man von Anfang Mai bis Anfang September und subadulte Tiere von Ende August bis Mitte Oktober. Letztere überwintern und vollziehen die Reifehäutung im Frühling. (Klimeš & Bezděčka 1995)
