Merkmale
Körperlänge: Weibchen erreichen 7,7 bis 10,5 mm, Männchen 7,4 bis 9,5 mm (Martens 1978).
Sehr große, massige Art mit kurzen Beinen.
Lebensraum
Laubmischwälder am Fuße von Berghängen bis in Höhen von ca. 800 m. (Komposch 1997)
Phänologie
Reife Tiere findet man von Anfang Mai bis Anfang September und subadulte Tiere von Ende August bis Mitte Oktober. Letztere überwintern und vollziehen die Reifehäutung im Frühling. (Klimeš & Bezděčka 1995)
