Systematik
Die Podocinidae gehören zur Unterordnung Monogynaspida, Infraordnung Gamasina, Hypordnung Dermanyssiae und zur Überfamilie Phytoseioidea. Weltweit sind 2 Gattungen und 25 Arten bekannt (Stand 2011). (Zhang 2011)
Beschreibung
Diese Milben haben ein verziertes Integument und ein charakteristisches sehr langes erstes Beinpaar. (Krantz & Walter 2009)
Biologie
Podocinidae sind Räuber von Nematoden. (Minoru Muraoka and Nobuyoshi Ishibashi 1976).
Verbreitung
Die Familie ist weltweit verbreitet. (Tenorio et al. 1985) (Halliday & R.B. 1990)
