Merkmale
Körperlänge: Weibchen werden 5,8 bis 6,0 mm groß, Männchen 3,1 bis 5,2 mm (Martens 1978).
Bei Opilio saxatilis befindet sich (nach Stol, 1999) ein einzelner markanter Tuberkel seitlich (lateral) vor dem Auge.
Lebensraum
Opilio saxatilis ist ursprünglich eine mediterrane Art, die durch Verschleppung in ganz Mitteleuropa heimisch geworden ist. Die Tiere lieben trockene, unbeschattete Habitate (z. B. Trockenrasen und Dünen). (Martens 1978) An Hauswänden, Zäunen, an Brücken, sowie unter Holz und Steinen (Wijnhoven 2005).
