Homolophus funestus ist ein Nomen nudum. In (L. Koch 1879) wird nur der Name Opilio funestus genannt, ohne genauere Beschreibung. (Kurt 2014) nennt Homolophus funestus für die Türkei. Möglicherweise ist hier Homolophus nordenskioldi gemeint, welche aber eine nordeuropäische/sibirische Verbreitung hat. Deshalb sind diese Nachweise zweifelhaft.
