Systematik
Chthonius orthodactylus gehört zur Untergattung Chthonius in der Gattung Chthonius. Die Art wird deswegen in taxonomischen Literatur Chthonius (Chthonius) heterodactylus genannt (Kárpáthegyi 2007).
Merkmale
Körperlänge: Weibchen erreichen 3,0 mm, Männchen 1,9 mm (Legg & Farr-Cox 2016).
Epistoma (spitziger Vorsprung zwischen Cheliceren) nicht vorhanden. Die 4 Augen sind groß. Hand der Schere oval, nicht dunkel. Vordere Augen so weit von Stirnrand entfernt, wie der Durchmesser eines Auges. Cephalothorax (Prosoma) trägt 20 Borsten, davon sind am Hinterrand ein Paar von langen und ein Paar von kurzen zu finden (siehe Bild unten, die kurzen sind abgebrochen). Zähne an dem nicht beweglichen Finger der Schere sind dreieckig, nach hinten stehend und stehen einzeln. Die am beweglichen Finger sind klein. Coxae III. und IV. tragen viele Borsten. (Szalay 1968)
Lebensraum
Die Art lebt in feuchter Streu und feuchtem Boden in Gebirgswäldern (Szalay 1968).
