Merkmale
Körperlänge: Beide Geschlechter erreichen 2,5 bis 4 mm.[Literaturzitat fehlt]
Grau oder silberfarben mit unscharf begrenzter, dunkler Sattelzeichnung (Bellmann 2006). Großer Augenhügel mit einer Krone aus 5 langen, spitzen Stacheln an beiden Seiten (Wijnhoven 2009).
Reifezeit
Adulte Tiere findet man von Mai bis Ende August (Bellmann 2006).
Fortpflanzung
Die Fortpflanzung erfolgt überwiegend parthenogenetisch (Bellmann 2006).
Lebensraum
An Felsen oder Baumstämmen in Gebieten mit hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit. Oft in Küstennähe (Wijnhoven 2009).
Verbreitung
Pyrenäen, französische Kanalküste, Großbritannien (Foto aus: http://www.naturespot.org.uk/), Irland, Island, Westküste Norwegens, Färöer-Inseln (Wijnhoven 2009).
